![]() ![]() It is a minor touch that became a major annoyance. We know it couldn't have gone straight or it would pierce Orochimaru too, but don't show it looking like it is going to head straight and then change the stab direction. #REAPER DEATH SEAL PLUS#Also, we got poorly done shots like Sakura with the half face/missing eye that we saw just the other week, plus when Orochimaru does call his sword over, it looks like it is coming straight, but when we actually see it in the Third Hokage it is angled upward, coming from the bottom. The mishmash of editing led to things like seeing Orochimaru's sword enter into the Third Hokage twice, and seeing Enma struggle to reach it twice just to name two moments. Because of the fact that we were constantly going to the battle, only to then cut away to some ultimately pointless scene like the Konohamaru escape - and although we love the pervy sage, Jiraiya's scene really had no purpose at all, nor did Naruto's for that much. Perhaps the Reaper Death Seal would've came off better had the episode been edited better. It was cool to see the move that killed the last Hokage and sealed the Nine-Tailed Fox spirit in Naruto, but did it really have to drag on for so long. The problem with the fight this episode was how tediously slow it all was, as we had to slowly watch as the Reaper Death Seal readied itself, reached into the enemy, and then slowly pulled the souls out. The Orochimaru and Third Hokage has been great up till this point, because we got both highly stylized action segments and personal reflection within character driven moments. Really? Who cares about Konohamaru? The only time we want to see Konohamaru again is if he is getting eaten by Orochimaru's snake. Not only do we see the continued fight between Orochimaru and the Third Hokage, but we also see Sasuke catching up to Kankurou and Gaara, Jiraiya showing up to summon his toad on Orochimaru's three-headed snake (doing a sweet dance in the process), Sakura's group still on the chase, and Konohamaru and his class being led to safety. The episode was all over the place in regards to story. ![]()
